Disruption overview
Jazeera Airways is suspending flights on 9 routes between Kuwait and India from 10 April 2026 to 15 May 2026, affecting travel to cities including Goa, Kozhikode, Lucknow, and Madurai. The airline says the decision is linked to operational challenges beyond its control, and it plans to keep some India connectivity through Dammam, Saudi Arabia, while nearly 500 employees shift to support revised operations and customer service. Affected passengers can get full refunds, while travelers on other India services have been told to re-check their flight status before going to the airport. Because these flights are operated by a non-EU airline between Kuwait and India, EC 261 wouldn’t normally apply, but passengers should still review refund and care options for their specific trip.
Passengers affected by this flight disruption may be eligible for compensation of up to £520 under passenger rights regulations. Eligibility depends on the circumstances of the disruption.

Disruption details
Jazeera Airways will suspend flights on 9 routes between Kuwait and India from 10 April 2026 to 15 May 2026. For passengers, that means canceled trips, fewer nonstop options, and extra uncertainty during a busy pre-summer travel period.
The suspension covers flights in both directions between Kuwait and Coimbatore, Goa, Kannur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangaluru, Tiruchirappalli, and Vijayawada. That removes direct seats on several important routes used heavily by people traveling between the Gulf and India.
The affected destinations are:
Coimbatore
Goa
Kannur
Kozhikode
Lucknow
Madurai
Mangaluru
Tiruchirappalli
Vijayawada
Jazeera Airways said the move is linked to operational circumstances beyond its control. The airline described the issue more broadly as operational challenges, and CEO Barathan Pasupathi apologized to customers, saying the decision was not taken lightly.
To keep some connectivity in place, the airline will continue serving 8 other Indian cities through its base in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. That gives passengers another option, but the journeys will be longer and include at least 1 stop instead of a direct flight.
Jazeera Airways also said nearly 500 employees have been reassigned to support the revised schedule and help customers affected by the changes. Travelers booked on other India services have been asked to check their flight status again before leaving for the airport, as more timetable adjustments are still possible.
Passengers whose flights are canceled can get a full refund. If you booked through a travel agent, your booking will be moved automatically into airline credit. If you booked directly with Jazeera Airways, you can request a refund through the airline’s website or mobile app.
With 9 routes paused for more than a month, seat availability on alternative airlines could tighten, especially as demand picks up ahead of summer. That may leave affected travelers facing longer connections and higher fares if they need to rebook quickly.
Because these flights are between Kuwait and India on a non-EU airline, EC 261 wouldn’t normally apply here. Even so, you may still have rights to a refund, rebooking, and care depending on your journey and the rules that apply to your ticket. If your Jazeera Airways flight has been canceled, you can use AirHelp’s free flight checker to understand what support may be available.
Know your rights
These are your air passenger rights
When your flight's disrupted, you have rights. Most passenger protection laws cover the following:
Compensation
Good passenger rights ensure passengers get fairly compensated for delays and cancellations. Try our compensation check and find out how much money we can get you.
Rerouting or refund
If your flight is canceled, your airline must provide an alternative. Some laws say you can choose a full refund instead.
Food and essential care
Providing food and drinks is a basic right under many regulations. Typically after a delay of a few hours.
Accommodation
Some passenger rights say the airline must provide accommodation when your journey is delayed overnight.
This advice is provided to help you if your flight is delayed or canceled. However, the exact care and compensation you are entitled to will depend on your specific circumstances and flight. Always follow the directions of your airline, particularly with regard to check-in and boarding times.

What to do if your flight is delayed, canceled, or overbooked
If you're traveling to, from, or within the European Union, here's what you should do when you experience a disruption.
Gather evidence that your flight was delayed, cancelled, or overbooked.
Get the airline to provide written confirmation of the disruption and the reason behind it.
Request an alternative flight to your destination — or a refund if you no longer wish to travel.
Make a note of the arrival time at your final destination.
Ask the airline to provide vouchers for meals and refreshments.
Avoid signing documents or accepting offers that may waive your passenger rights.
If an overnight stay is required, ask the airline to provide accommodation.
Save receipts for any additional expenses caused by the disruption.
