A 48-hour pilots' strike organised by the Vereinigung Cockpit union will disrupt departures by Lufthansa Passenger Airlines, Lufthansa Cargo and Lufthansa CityLine from German airports between 00:01 on 12 March and 23:59 on 13 March 2026. This action follows the breakdown of wage negotiations at Lufthansa CityLine and a dispute over company pensions for Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo pilots. Flight Cancellation Compensation Lufthansa

In the event of a Lufthansa flight cancellation, European laws on air passenger rights are clear: Lufthansa must offer you alternative transportation to get to your destination or, if you prefer, a refund.
